Floriade Competitions in the greenest office and expo pavillion Villa Flora
The global horticultural exhibition Floriade 2012 is a peak event for the green sector. During this 6th Floriade participants from the Netherlands and abroad will present themselves in theme fields, which will be judged according to the A.I.P.H. criteria. The VKC has been requested to carry out the judgements.
The big eye catcher at Floriade 2012 is the unique climate controlled building "Villa Flora". In this stately lady with wonderful light incidence the indoor exhibition with the inspiring name "Green Emotion" will be held. This concept is designed by the chief flower designer of Floriade: Oogenlust B.V. from Veldhoven. The owner, Marcel van Dijk, made a wonderful design in which the visitor will be led through four experiences being: Classical, Modern, Trendy and Extreme.
Like the former editions of Floriade, during the whole Floriade season competitions will be held, the socalled Floriade Competitions for cutflowers, foliage and flowering potplants and trees/shrubs, all organised and facilitated by VKC. In total three competitions will be held in "Villa Flora".
At the 66 hectares outdoor grounds of Floriade entries of numerous countries will be judged by an international jury of honour, assembled by A.I.P.H. Besides this jury the VKC committees will be present to judge all Dutch companies and organisations. Taken into consideration the prize money that Floriade is offering, this makes it very interesting for the entrants to have their presentation judged. For the winners even prizes can be won of 10.000 US Dollars. Besides this prize money, also a considerable amount is promised to the winners of the individual entries of the competitions held in "Villa Flora". This prize money can mount up to 1000 US Dollar for the participation with the highest score.
