More than 30 entries in a wide assortment were judged. Striking were a.o. the Allium sphaerocephallon, and the Sandersonia aurantiaca of JGM Bleeker from Heemserk with large flowers and sturdy stems. This entry was awarded 9.22 points.
The winner of this summerflower contest was Kweek. V.d. Zwet BV from Zuidbroek with Hydrangea macrophylla You & Me Together. This cultivar has a small, double starshaped flower. The long stems had heavy balls with a beautiful uniform presentation. The striking colour and the perfect leaf were reasons to award this product as the best summerflower of the Noordwijk exhibition, with 9.70 and the FloraHolland Prize.
