VKC Trade Judging at FloraHolland Trade Fair

485 stands were judged by the judges of VKC. Starting point was that the stands were judged on four main criteria, being:

- The message and recognisability of the stand in taxonomy, folders, video and promotion material
- The total presentation of the stand with a.o. decor, colour, lighting scheme etc.
- The originality and creataivity of the stand as to decor, product and other added value.
- The product quality of the products in the stand.

Three nominees were placed as follows:

Third Nolina Potplantenkw. from Woubrugge with a beautiful pot roses stand. The large number of products was especially meant for use by the public, but also the concepts are very interesting for trading. The stand gained 9.20 points.

Second became Sion de Lier, a wellknown Phalaenopsis firm. The eye catchers and professional positioning of the name gave the stand a striking view. Also the perfect quality of the Phalaenopsis and the use of good material in the stand added to the score of 9.30 points.

First and also winner of the FloraHolland Originalilty prize became Oriental Group from Bleiswijk. The use of water and the stepping stones in the stand were creative and original. The use of material, the logic design and the special plants made this firm the winner of the mentioned prizes with a score of 9.50 points.

Trade jury

For the first time the VKC carried out a trade judgement for the product Rose, Foliage and Flowering pot plants. A special jury was formed by buyers and sellers for big trade firms, who by aforehand made criteria judged the entries. All participants received a report with the made analysis.

Winners were for Roses: Marc van der Drift from Heerde with a beautiful score of 9.7 points. Winner became Porta Nova from Waddinxveen with Red Naomi with 9.8 points.

With standaardroses it  was Nice 2 Get which stayed ahead of Van der Hulst Rozenkw. from Horst Meterik, who saw Colandra scoring as second with 9.2 points.  The certificate was for Nice 2 Get with rose cultivar Aqua which scored 9.5 points and the FloraHolland-certificate.

Foliage plants

Two categories could be distinguished. The participants could enter their products in the tray or apart and could also be entered in oncept shape.  D.C. van Geest Potplanten BV uit 's-Gravenzande became second with Musa ‘Dwarf Cavendish’. De winner became Tillandsia ‘Paradise’ van Tobias Bromelias from Almere. The entry gained 9.0 points and the FloraHolland-certificate.

Of the nearly 50 entries the quality of very good. Gebr. Blom Palmen from Aalsmeer became third with Howea forsteriana with 9.52 points. Second was kw. Tarreen Smarre from Klazienaveen with a beautiful Asparagus falcatus which scored 9.55 points. The big winner became Ficus benjamina ‘Danielle’ on a rack with 9,6 points and the certificate of Ficusforever, Breda. 

Flowering potplants

In the category Concept it was Hoogendoorn Stephanotis VOF from Ter Aar with 9.4 points. Winner was Ronald van Marrewijk from Maasland with Anthurium Alabama:9.6 points and the FloraHolland-certificate.

In the category single plants or tray Nolina Potplantenkw. uit Woubrugge proved  best with a flowering pot rose Honora Hit. They became third with 9.5 points. Potanthurium became second 'White Champion' from  C.P. en C.J Stolk BV uit Bergschenhoek with 9.70 points. De winner was the red Anthurium Avento of WE Plants uit Bleiswijk.( 9.75 pt.)

Conclusion: A well succeeded project with enthusiastic participants, which will be certainly repeated  at the next fair in Aalsmeer in November.
