National Lathurus Exhibition Palace Soestdijk: Thursday 1 until Sunday 4 July 2010

In the glasshouses of Palace Soestdijk more than 100 vases with Lathyrus arrangements can be admired. Under the participants also some garden workers from the Palace, who gained high scores at former shows, because Lathyrus was the favourite flower of the late Princess Juliana.

Lathyrus appears in more than 130 varieties in colours from white until dark purple, even, multi coloured and vained coloured flowers.  When growing Lathyrus the size of the flower, a firm, long stem and of course the fragrance are important. The Lathyrus entered by name will be judged by Vaste Keurings Commissie (VKC) from Roelofarendsveen. Besides the gardeners from the Palace, also individual amateur growers will show their products, with old and new varieties. Members of the Dutch Lathyrus Society will be present to give explanations about how to grow this product best.

The Exhibition is daily open from Thursday 1 until Sunday 4 July from 9.30 until 17.15 hours.

Entrance fee to the park (where the glasshouses are located): Adults € 5,00; children 4-12 years € 2,00; children 0-4 years: free
