Huis & Tuin scores with model gardens
For the first VKC judged on the garden fair Huis en Tuin in Leeuwarden. Seventeen gardens were presented to the jury. Gardens of very different character, which gives this fair an extra dimension. Three criteria were judged: Design, Material and Quality of the presentation. Within the design the originality and creativity and use of the space were judged. The quality of the dead and living material was determined. The quality of the standpresentation was determined by the total. Three prizes were available, which were presented to the following firms:
Third prize for Gardens: Tuinservice from Berlicum 8.5 points
This firm presented a natural garden which was designed in a very original and creative way. The simplicity created a good relation between the various materials. The designs on the walls were presented optimally. It was a shame that the use of artificial flowers did not match at all with the chosen theme. All in all a good fair presentation against a budget friendly price.
Second prize for Tuinadviesbureau Michel van Kammen from Burgum, 8.7 points
This firm chose for the theme Relax Garden, which was presented well. Various atmospheres were created, where the height in the stand was used in various ways. The materials were chosen in a light colour, which was consequently administered. The quality of the chosen materials was original, and both living and dead materials were of good quality. The plant containers and the use of the green wall were nice details. A fine presentation with many details for the visitors.
First prize for Svensk Gardning - Garden of the Future, Dokkum 1st Prize 8.8 points
This theme was not chosen to bring something new or revolutionary, but more in the use of materials and colours. The stand was well designed with minimalist and original flow to the organic part of garden and terrace. The right choice of furniture and the fine quality of the plant material were good for a first prize.
