This week two Freesia cultivars were registered with a striking diameter: the single flowered 'Rio' and the double flowered 'Clementine'. A flower with a diameter between 9 and 9,5 cm can be compared to the large-flower group of cut roses. Besides the large diameter the flower has a warm orange colour. The name refers undoubtedly to the well known citrus fruit Clementine.
